Through the miracles of modern modern medicine it is now possible to get more fat from your gluttonous eating to end up on your belly. Today massive belly obesity is easier than ever! It turns out that drugs like Paxil, Zoloft, Selexa and all the other drug in that class called SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) will really help you pack on the belly blubber. You won't find gaining tips like this on Dimensions or Belly Builders. This is real science like the kind you will find on "Dr" Gerald "Teddy" Bear's authoritative Biggest Fattest Blog.
Here is how Zoloft and other SSRIs work to increase you belly blubber. SSRIs like Zoloft increase your cortisol levels. When you increase cortisol levels, you experience edema, water retention — weight gain. People on these SSRI antidepressants average a whopping 60-70 pounds in weight gain. If you think that's great most of it goes to your belly! How cool is that! If you eat sweets it will work even better.
Unfortunately weight gain drugs like SSRIs are not without some side effects but depending on how you look at it most of are not all that undesirable especially if you are a gaining glutton. Alarmists like CG Brady would tell you to avoid these wonder drugs but he also tells people to lose weight.
Here are the side effects of the SSRIs:
Serzone has just been found to cause liver damage; and, there is now a black box warning on that particular drug. That my sound like a bad thing but the poor starving folk in the starving medical industrial complex need business. Liver transplants pay well plus you will be disabled and you will get free medical care.
Sometimes people on these medical wonders go off the deep end and go on killing sprees and abuse kids.
In order for you to understand what causes people to do something so awful, and so completely out of character for them, you have to look at what is happening in their bodies while on drugs like Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, Luvox, Celexa, Sarafem, Fen-Phen, Redux, Meridia, Effexor, Serzone, Wellbutrin or Zyban; what is happening in their brains; and what is happening to their cortisol levels.
A single, 30 mg dose of Prozac — that's a pill and a half — given to someone who has never taken the drug before, and who never takes it again, will double his or her cortisol levels.
Why is this significant? Research indicates that high cortisol levels cause:
- Brain damage.
- Cushing's Syndrome, characterized by a hump at the top of the spine, rounded body with smaller arms and legs, round face, like you would see with Down's Syndrome, and emotional instability. Moods can fluctuate from degrees of euphoria or mania, and full psychosis, to the depths of depression. Other problems associated with Cushing's Syndrome include:
- Irritability. (Fat Bastard loves being ornery.)
- Decreased ability to handle stress. (So what?! Just get more drugs! Sheesh!!)
- Decreased glucose tolerance, which often develops into hypoglycemia and diabetes. (Injecting a little extra insulin is a great way to increase appetite and thanks to Liberty Medical all your diabetic supplies are FREE! It's a win win situation!)
- Muscle weakness, brought on by potassium loss and / or the actual metabolism — or wasting — of muscle mass, capillary weakness, brought on by protein loss, and poor wound healing. (Again, this is a good thing muscle loss lowers your metabolic rate so you can get fatter on less food. This is a positive side effect!)
- Bone demineralization and susceptibility to fractures, due to decreased bone mineral, and calcium in the urine. (Big deal! Get a power chair! They're free too!)
- Retarded bone growth in children, probably for the same reasons. (They won't run around as much and they will get fat and fat kids are cute.)
- Edema, renal disorders, fluid retention around the face and eyes. Hypertension, from sodium and water retention. (This too is good because you will look even fatter!)
- Protruding abdominal cavity, which is why both men and women begin to look pregnant after using these drugs for a while. (...And this is a bad thing?)
- Girdle obesity. (That's a bad thing?)
- Increased production of androgen steroids, resulting in abnormal mammary gland function in men, even to the point of producing milk, and masculinizing of features in women, including excess hair growth on their face, neck, chest, abdomen and thighs. (A lot of the fat girls get pig bristles and most of the are on Paxil for their fat girl histrionics. A lot of FAs find it sexy. Men producing milk is a good thing. What if big mama's tits dry up? Having some back up milk for baby is a good thing!)
- Acne. (Fat guys love popping zits.)
- Peptic ulcers. (Not if you eat first.)
- Decreased or depressed immune system, and suppressed inflammation response, which can mask some very serious infections. (OK one very minor risk)
When you're literally doubling your cortisol levels on a daily basis, your body is completely deteriorating. I can't think of anything more damaging to the body — or the brain — than that huge increase of cortisol.
You guys are kidding right?
ReplyDeleteEither that or he's delusional. He hates the medical industry after he nearly died of a diabetic coma and apparently ran into some complications that apparently also almost killed him.
ReplyDeleteHere's my whole thing- if SSRIs are that bad for the health, doubling cortisol levels daily (that would kill you within a few weeks, if not days by the way), then there wouldn't be people alive today who've been taking it daily since 1990. And there are.
Also, google "SSRI" and "average weight gain". You will see it says 15 to 20 pounds, on average, not 60 to 70 pounds. And that's over the long haul- many people take them for years, and Americans tend to gain weight every year regardless, so it's hard to separate out what level of the weight gain is due to the drug and what is due to gluttony. Regardless, I have a friend who stayed the same weight from ages 18 to 26, while he was on an SSRI, and I asked him about his bloodwork and he said everything has always been normal, except his cholesterol used to be 210, which is a little high.
Here's my bottom line- trial lawyers are motivated mainly by a desire for money. They'll sue companies for mega-bucks if they believe there are some dangerous side-effects that are not listed on the packaging, even if the drug companies didn't know about it at the time. This results in multi-billion dollar settlements, and literally hundreds of millions of dollars for the lawyers. Do you see where I am going with this? If SSRIs caused dangerous effects on cortisol levels, trial lawyers would be backing up dump trucks and saying "just empty your bags of money here, okay?" to the pharma companies, who would fill up the trucks and cry about that they were only trying to help. Just look at what happened with Phen-Phen (diet drug that works... at ruining your heart valves) ($13 billion settlement, and "only" 50,000 victims sued, meaning an average of $260,000 per victim), Avandia (diabetes drug) ($460 million settlement for 10,000 victims), Vioxx (anti-inflammatory drug that approximately doubles the risk of a heart attack) (the company has set aside $4.85 billion just to deal with US claims, one jury even awarded $9 million in punitive damages to the family of one man who died from it, although I don't know if that held up on appeal.)
So with SSRIs being among the most commonly prescribed drugs in the entire United States of America, (almost 30 million Americans took Zoloft in 2007, by now it is probably over 30 MILLION Americans, and it hit the market in 1991, almost 20 years ago.) So about 10% of the population takes just that ONE SSRI. Maybe 25% or more take an SSRIs, there are like a half dozen on the market. If there were A-N-Y big negative health effects, tell me this... wouldn't the profit-seeking trial lawyers everyone loves to hate, (except when you actually get injured, then they are your best friend in the world), wouldn't they be backing up their MONEY TRUCKS?
Even if ONE PERCENT of the 25% or so who take SSRIs had these effects you mention, that would be 750,000 plaintiffs. Even if their lives/damages were worth just $200,000 each, that would be $187,000,000,000 in damages. $187 BILLION DOLLARS. Are you telling me that America's trial lawyers would just IGNORE their slice of a $187 billion pie? They are gluttons for money, and believe me, if SSRIs were as dangerous as Fat Bastard suggests, the trial lawyers would be gorging themselves on a nice thick slice of 187 Billion Dollar Pie. A la mode.
If he's a lawyer,
ReplyDeleteThe drug pushers have an easy way out. They can say that the patient was crazy and the bad stuff a coincidence.
The medical industry in in the US is an industry and it is a largely unregulated industry that is 20% of the US GDP.
The trial lawyers association lack the clout to do much other than the many open and shut cases that come their way. Lawyers are in business to make money so they only take cases that are easy to prove.
As to what you will find in a Google search, keep in mind the drug pushers have massive resources to spam google with their propaganda.
If you were honest you would Google and find out how many MILLION prescription are written for SSRIs and thn as yourself how many people even need them.
Fat Bastard is right and you are full of shit.
I had/have Lyme disease but the cock sucking drug pushing whores for the drug companies put me on Prozac to shut me up because those lazy cookie cutter MDs are too fucking lazy to think. I kept getting worse and now I am disabled.
ReplyDeleteA Tine test showed I had Lyme disease and it effected my brain. The cock suckers assumed I was nuts even though I had no history of psychiatric problems.
Doctors need to burn in hell.

You say 30 million Americans took Zoloft. WHAT THE FUCK!
The US Population is 307,006,550. It is totally absurd to believe even 1% of people need Zoloft let alone 10%. People are just not that unhealthy.
You accuse lawyers of being greedy. A month's supply of generic Zoloft is 10 bucks. That is 300 MILLION a month on Zoloft alone. That is not greedy. Than is downright criminal!
Cut and paste this. http://www.ssristories.com/index.php
Your math is fuzzy. There are not enough lawyers to handle all the medical industry assaults.
Google medical errors or Health Care Acquired Infections and if you can defend the health care industry then you should suck OJ Simpsons dick.
Say what you want about lawyers but there's is still a profession. The "medical profession" has been an industry for 30 years of the greedy souless baby boomers and Generation Xers exploiting disease for all it's worth.
These drugs are a Godesnd. Nearly 100 million Americans are taking this drugs. How could they have survived without them?
ReplyDeleteCritics say, "Doctors are now medicating unhappiness," Too many people take drugs when they really need to be making changes in their lives."
Fuck that shit! Why take any effort when you can take a pill?
Just because a government study said antidepressants have become the most commonly prescribed drugs in the United States is not a bad thing. They're prescribed more than drugs to treat high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthma, or headaches.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention looked at 2.4 billion drugs prescribed in visits to doctors and hospitals in 2005. Of those, 118 million were for antidepressants. Finally 1/3 of the US population is happy and getting fatter. Praise Jesus!
The use of antidepressants and other psychotropic drugs -- those that affect brain chemistry -- has skyrocketed over the last decade and how can that be a bad thing?
Adult use of antidepressants almost tripled between the periods 1988-1994 and 1999-2000. That's why I love capitalism so much.
Between 1995 and 2002, the most recent year for which statistics are available, the use of these drugs rose 48 percent, the CDC reported. USA USA USA
Many psychiatrists see this statistic as good news -- a sign that finally Americans feel comfortable asking for help with psychiatric problems. Exactly! Who knew that at least 1/3 of Americans suffered from depression? Thank God we know now and hopefully all Americans will come forward and get these wonder drugs.
Doctors are highly ethical and here is a quote from one.
"Depression is a major public health issue," said Dr. Kelly Posner, an assistant professor at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. "The fact that people are getting the treatments they need is encouraging."
She added that 25 percent of adults will have a major depressive episode sometime in their life, as will 8 percent of adolescents.
All I can say is HOLY SHIT! Maybe I'm depressed and simply don't know it. I want ZOLOFT and so should you!
Fat Bastard and Proud FA:
ReplyDeleteThis thinling loves your blog and reads regularly.
I've got to say, though - when you post stuff like this it's harder for me to think this blog is the real deal and not just a clever satire.
Not that it really matters. I'll probably read one way or the other. Cheers, boys!
This article is satire. True fatlings get fat using food and insulin only. Think of it like competitive body builders who don't use steroids.
ReplyDeleteI wrote this because Proud FA's aunt was put on Prozac and she killed herself.
I also wrote it for the over 100 million Americans who are on SSRIs.
I also wrote it for the victims of all the school shootings.
There is a HUGE problem in the US with over medication. 12% of school age boys are on a psycho stimulant. That is immoral.
As you know we have an autism epidemic and I suspect that there is a connection with mothers who have used SSRIs and autism.
We are a pill popping country. There is no way that 1/3 of Americans need to be on an antidepressant but 1/3 are. Come to think of it, there is a reason. It puts a ton of money into the coffers of big pharma.
Like most Americans I'm a selfish
pig that barely gives a crap about anything but myself but the chronic abuse of people by the medical industry is even more than this fat bastard can take.
Hey Fat Bastard, uh, you are majorly wrong about one thing. When you said "true fatlings get fat using food and insulin only." You forgot about the DRINKS!! Lots of us fatlings gain a lot of our weight by drinking large amounts of soda and beer. Milkshakes are also a great way to pack on the pounds.
ReplyDeleteBut I agree with you that using drugs to gain weight is not the way of the true glutton. It is like when bodybuilders use steroids. Now when I go to the airport and I see a fellow 400+ pound man I don't know whether his gut is natural, or if he's been popping pills for depression.
I have one theory though, maybe it's actually just the weight gain that is making people less depressed. I think that fatness is evolutionarily designed to make you happy, because in ancient times the big threat was starvation, so fatness naturally triggers happiness.

You make good points. Let me clarify one thing. I consider any consumption of substances containing calories to be eating. Drinking IMO is eating.
I would like to expand upon your theory and say that your theory is a fact. Fat men and woman are jolly. Food makes everyone happy. It increases serotonin. People don't need SSRIs to be happy, they simply need to eat. Why do you think McDonalds created the Happy Meal?
118 MILLION American are on an anti-depressant. That's some scary shit!
Yes, I must agree.
ReplyDeleteTrue happiness is through eating and growing fatter and fatter.
Also, having more belly fat actually triggers off a desire to eat more.
The more belly fat you have, the greater your appetite becomes.
If you recall, in an article I published in my blog back on June 2, 2009 which was titled " Apple Shape Vs Pear Shaped - Being Apple Shaped A Greater Health Risk, But Also A Lot More Fun!" I had published a copy of an article that was titled . . .
A FAT BELLY MAY FUEL DESIRE TO EAT MORE
Let me quote from the article . . .
"Yang and his colleagues have discovered the hormone that stimulates appetite in the brain, neuropeptide, is also produced in abdominal fat. Previously it was believed it was made only in the brain.
If, as the Lawson scientists now suspect, neuropeptide from belly fat makes it into the blood stream and to the brain, it could explain why some people just get fatter and fatter. “You put on pounds and produce more NPY (neuropeptide) and more NPY and it travels to the brain. Now you are hungry and need to eat,” Yang said. “This could explain why obese people are constantly hungry.” There’s more bad news.
Neuropeptide also increases the number of fat cells by stimulating the replication of fat cell precursor cells. The precursor cells then change into fat cells."
Well, for us gluttons who love growing a big belly, it's not bad news, but is really good news!
The more belly fat your have, the more Neuropeptides you have circulating in your blood and into the brain, then the hungrier you feel, the more your want to eat, then the bigger your belly becomes, and the more belly fat you have, further increasing the Neuropeptides in your blood, thus further increasing your appetite.
And round and round it goes in a never ending cycle. Your belly growers bigger and bigger, hanging down lower and lower, until your pants fall down!
And then, you'll feel even hungrier, eating more, and your belly continues to grow long after your pants fell down.
So, if you're a glutton, your own ever increasing belly fat produces more and more Neuropeptides increasing your appetite and then, you have run-away gluttony and run-away weight gain.
Therefore, we don't need drugs to increase our appetites. Our own body just naturally produces increasing quantities of Neuropeptides with ever increasing belly fat.
So, the fatter your belly becomes, the more food you will desire to make your belly even fatter.
Now, isn't that really nice to know!!!
Dear Teddy Bear,
ReplyDeleteYeah! I agree that it is a good thing for the apples of the world that their bellies make them want to eat more. It's common sense to me. My theory/fact goes a step further as previously mentioned, and it says that being fat also makes you happier, the fatter you get.
Note that all anas seem to be very unhappy. Most thinlings and normallings are also not that happy. But most fat people are jolly and happy and contented. Except when we get heart attacks and die of heart disease slowly, etc, but I mean before those health problems arise.
As for me, I would be an extreme pear shaped morbidly obese man, with extremely wide hips and a very wide ass, much wider than my shoulders. Unfortunately, it is very difficult for me to sit down unless there is a bench, and I had to have bench seats installed in my car because I can't fit in bucket seats.
I may be very fat, but I always eat healthy foods, just in mass quantities. I never eat burgers, and actually except for fish I am a vegetarian and I always get organic foods, never drink soda, but I do love red wine and have about a bottle of it every day. My sister is even fatter than I am, but she drinks about 4 liters of soda every day and always eats fast food for breakfast and lunch, and then goes to a restaurant for dinner. It's not that fun eating with her because she only ever wants to go to fast food places or at best, diners.
I love fast food because of the instant gratification but sometimes we fatlings need a break form it.
